Don't get obsessed with rankings! Yes, it is important to have good rankings for your primary keywords but there are better ways to monitor the results of your search engine optimization campaign than ranking reports.

One of the best ways is through traffic analysis as described in the last section. With the right reporting tools you will be able to see what search engines visitors came from and what keywords they used to find you. That is a lot more useful to determine the true value of your work.

If and when you do check your rankings, you should not check thousands of keywords for your website 10 times a day. This places an unreasonable load on the search engines servers, which the search engine companies do not like.
