  2. Are there restrictions on the type of content one can submit?

Each engine has established editorial guidelines that subscribers to this service must adhere to. Your Web pages may be removed if they violate these guidelines. Fees are nonrefundable should an engine remove the Web page for any of these editorial reasons. Please make sure to review the Terms of Service prior to purchase.

Additionally, there are technical guidelines that your URL must meet in order for the search engine indexers to successfully visit and index your Web page.

  3. Can I submit dynamic pages?

The crawlers will be able to crawl and index pages that are dynamically driven from URL parameters. That is, you may submit pages of the form:

  6. What's the difference between Yahoo! Search Submit Basic and the Add URL service?

A subscription with Yahoo! Search Submit Basic gives Web site owners the assurance that their Web page gets in and stays in the selected search engine index. And since it's fee based, Yahoo! Search Submit Basic will not suffer from the abuses that the Add URL service does. The nominal fee will also encourage Web site owners to submit only their most relevant Web pages. This improves the quality of the indexes and the overall search experience.

  7. How do I improve the ranking of my Web pages?

We cannot guarantee that your Web page will appear at the top of the search results for any particular keyword. But we might be able to help you improve your chances:

    • Choose keywords that people will associate with your Web site.
    • Make sure your Web content mentions those keywords near the top of the page. For instance, place the keywords in the headline or in the first paragraph on the page.
    • Mention keywords more than once within your Web page.
    • Include the keywords in the TITLE, DESCRIPTION and KEYWORDS meta-tags in the HTML coding of your Web page.

  8. Why are my Web pages not automatically ranked in the top results?

As an Yahoo! Search Submit Basic subscriber, your Web pages are ranked with each engines normal relevance scoring algorithm. This means your Web page is ranked in the same way as non-subscribers. Maintaining this consistency ensures the integrity of search results and a quality search experience for users. Please remember that Yahoo! Search Submit Basic subscribers are not guaranteed placement in the top page of results.

If there was a problem with adding one of your URLs to the index, an error code will be displayed.
